Benjamin has an extraordinary life. He attended school in Boston, but only to 10 years old. Most time he depended on self-studied to Improve himself. He created the first public library In Philadelphia. He was American Ambassador to France, successful got support from France for American independence. He gave many advices to newborn government such as advice for constitution. As a printer, scientist, inventor, and a writer, without doubt he had much success in difference arenas.

(Christopher, 2010) In my view, ambitious, hardworking, and warm hearted is top three qualities make Benjamin a hero. On “A Lesson Before Dying” (Gainer, 1993),Gainer Identify a hero has top three characteristics Is brave, responsible and Intelligent. I agree the three qualities are Importance elements for a hero and strong agree responsible is an important one. Nowadays, many people has brave and intelligent but they cannot be a hero. Because, they kind of selfish and did not have responsible for society. So I think responsible is a key point for be a hero. I definition a hero should be brave, responsible and patience.

“A Lesson Before Dying” is based on a real story In 1948-1949.The main role Is Grant and Jefferson. Jefferson Is a black man who treated unjustly will going die. Grant, as a teacher in the small town, will help Jefferson to be a dignified man before Jefferson dying. In the process, they built a strength friendship. Without doubt, Grant is a hero in “A Lesson Before Dying”. He does many works for change Jefferson better.

Finally, Jefferson became a tough man. Despite Jefferson still going to die but Jefferson demonstrates his dignified for people. So Grant did a big thing. It is easy to see three heroic qualities: brave, responsible, and patience from Grant’s actions In “A Lesson Before Dying”. First, Grant is a brave person. He spent a lot of time to help Jefferson not only show his a warm-hearted, also demonstrate he is a brave person. Because of African Americans suffered injustice during this time.

And racial discrimination is existed a long time. So Grant totally clear change history is very hard and his power is weak. But he still to try it. Even though, he cannot change history but he want Jefferson transformation. The point Is show Grant Is a brave person. Second, I think Grant Is a responsible man. Obviously, Jefferson Is going to die Is not has direct effect with Grant.

But Grant thought if Jefferson died without dignified will has a bad effect for black community. Also Grant wants him to show whites he is not a hog and is a tough person. Grant consider for the black community including Jefferson. The evidence is demonstrated Grant is a responsible man. Finally, in my eyes Grant is a man who has patience. The novel started Jefferson rejects Grant help and keep this state long time. And on Jefferson.

He believes Jefferson will change. Then Grant did it. This evidence is show Grant is a man who has patience. So Grant is satisfied heroic qualities: brave, responsible and patience. Benjamin has three quality is ambitious, hardworking and warm-hearted. Grant is a brave responsible and patience person. Compare Benjamin and Grant similarity is they are both tough guy and has heroic qualities.

From the two great man, I figure out two most important qualities of a hero are bravery and ambitious. Also heroes need to either be hardworking or patience.
